My Modest Collection of Tools

Having the extremely satisfying hobby of woodworking, need not necessarily be bank breaking nor wallet emptying. I know that we would all like to have the finest tools - read expensive - but that is not always possible. A modest quantity of decent tools, is all that a person really needs, to pass many an enjoyable hour in your small shop. The projects you have just seen, were all made with my admittedly modest array of equipment, at a comparatively small investment, which I will now list for you, to prove my point. All prices listed were at the time of purchase, spread over the last 5 years or so. (NOTE: prices are in Canadian dollars, some but not all purchased on sale)

I've probably missed a couple of smaller items, but that's about it for a total of about $1750.00 spread over 9 years for an average yearly expenditure of less than $200.00 - that's less than $20.00 a month. So it's quite economical to be a hobbyist woodworker, AND,,,what about the money you'll be saving by making things for your home or as gifts, instead of having to buy them.

If you've ever thought you might like to be a hobbyist woodworker, I strongly urge you to go for it! With just a few bucks, a thread of creativity and some common sense, you can enjoy a very fulfilling hobby and spend many very satisfying hours doing it.
